As we near Christmas, the team in Livingstone is thrilled by the progress made on the Zambezi Sawmills School Renovation project and your donations can help us bring it to completion. Our recent fundraising has resulted in the construction of a security wall around the perimeter the school. Our next goal is to finish the classroom block.
Zambezi Sawmills is a school in a highly vulnerable part of Livingstone. The school is home to over 400 students and is listed as a Community School meaning that it is heavily reliant on volunteer resources and support. The Happy Africa Foundation brought Zambezi Sawmills School on as a focal project with plans to build a security wall, classroom block, teacher’s house, and community garden. The renovations would qualify Zambezi Sawmills as a Basic School meaning it is eligible for Government funding.
Looking towards the New Year our focus has moved onto the construction of the classroom block. We have already laid the slab so now we are ready to see the walls spring to life. The entire classroom will cost around $16,000 to construct so we are encouraging people to continue the act of giving this festive season by making a contribution towards the Zambezi Sawmills classroom block. Great or small, your donations will go a long way to securing the education future of over 400 students!
