The Happy Africa Foundation, in partnership with the government of Zambia is undertaking a project to improve one of the primary schools in the area surrounding Livingstone.
The renovations being done at Libuyu Community School is an ongoing project that is being spearheaded by the local government through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in partnership with The Happy Africa Foundation in Livingstone.
The charity has a longstanding partnership with Libuyu Community School, which hosts grades one through seven. In the past we have donated books to the school through a consultancy firm and our partners at African Impact send volunteers to help at the school through teaching assistance as well as reading, art and sports clubs.
Once completed, the project will see the creation of a 3-classroom block which will give hundreds of children in the area an opportunity to gain an education and a chance at a bright future in a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
The creation of the new classrooms is also a cost-saving measure as it elevates the school’s need to rent classroom space from the City Council. Now, those funds will be able to go towards other uses that will benefit the school and its students.
