The first ever Happy Africa Foundation fundraising event in Cape Town was held at Manna Epicure Restaurant on the 7th November. The night was a huge success, bringing together over 50 people to celebrate the evening with us and open their hearts and pockets to support our projects.
Jambo Africa got the evening off to a great start as guests enjoyed music and bubbles and tried their luck to win some of the awesome prizes our generous donors sponsored for the event. This evening was also a great opportunity for some of our sponsors to get to know the faces behind the projects and to enjoy feedback on our great achievements over the last year.
Delight was the theme of the night as guests dined on a choice of delicious food and wine while being spellbound by the astounding illusionist Larry Soffer. A master of “magic of the mind” his magic includes acts of mind-reading, metal bending and telekinesis, taking card tricks to a new level and manipulating forks and coins to bend to his will, and even resetting the time on some of our guests watches without physically doing so.
The mind-blowing card tricks and metal bending preceded the main event of the night – the Auction.
With some impressive items on offer, the auction became very heated at times and there were some very happy bidders at the end of the evening!
The event was a wonderful success for The Happy Africa Foundation, and a great big thanks goes to all those whose kind donations enabled this event to take place.
