In July we had the pleasure of welcoming Aleia Bucci to Zambia to visit some of our projects in Livingstone. Aleia is part of the GlobalGiving team. GlobalGiving’s site visits are an important part of their work, and their team is always so excited to be able to meet, support, and learn from their nonprofit partners, like Happy Africa, in the field.
Their In-the-Field traveler Aleia Bucci wanted to share some feedback about her experience.
“Thank you for taking the time to show me the Zambezi Sawmills school and for letting me attend a girl impact session. It was great to be able to see your work in action, and I enjoyed spending so much time with the volunteers and staff during my time at Livingstone Backpackers!
Spending time around both organizations gave me a perspective I haven’t been able to get from many other site visits. Observing the day to day operations for so long made me realize how efficiently the organizations are run and the feedback I received from staff and volunteers was nothing but positive. It’s really telling when the volunteers are in tears because they have to leave an experience they’ve loved so much!
Both African Impact and The Happy Africa Foundation are wonderful organizations working incredibly hard to help rural communities throughout Africa. I was very impressed at the level of accountability and systematic structure within both organizations and would encourage anyone who wants to spend time volunteering in Africa to take a look at the wide variety of projects they offer.”
